STAFF MEETING:
Staff Meeting this Friday, 7th May – Junior & Senior Infants finish at usual time.
SCHOOL ASSEMBLY:
The school assembly is on tomorrow morning @ 8:40a.m. (instead of next week) and
this is to celebrate the feast day of Edmund Rice.
SCHOOL EXTENSION:
We are delighted that the Department of Education has sanctioned money for a 3 classroom
extension to the school. This has been granted because our school has become very popular and
also because the school is committed to small class sizes. These classrooms will ensure that our classes will remain small into the future with an average of 15 pupils in classes from
Junior to 2nd class.
– 1st to 6th Class finish @ 1:30p.m.
OPEN DAY—FOR NEW PUPILS:
On 18th May we will hold an open day for all new pupils. We are now enrolling for all ages,
however, we have only limited places in certain classes. If you know someone who is considering sending their child to our school please ring Sandra @ 4397000 as soon as possible
MUSIC – BRASS BAND – 3RD CLASS:
The school has ordered new brass instruments, for the 3rd class who are starting up their
brass band shortly.
SPORT – SOCCER:
We are very proud of the 6th class boys, who qualified from their section and represented the school in the FAI 5-a-side county finals, last week at Turners Cross. The boys played really well and were a credit to their school and were unlucky not to
qualify for the finals.
SPORT – HURLING:
The school team is due to play Gaelscoil, Mahon this Friday @ 13:00 at
Blackrock. Best of luck boys!
SPORT – BASKETBALL:
Ms O Sullivan’s class are enjoying their coaching sessions supplied free of charge by the
Blue Demons Basketball club.
SCHOOL TOUR – 3RD/4TH/5TH/6TH:
The school tour date is Wednesday May 19th. A further €20 is to be brought in
(€30 in total for deposit).
MATHS FOR FUN:
Maths for fun continues for Junior and Senior Infant classrooms.
Tuesday mornings – Junior Infants, 8:45-9:15 and
Wednesday mornings – Senior Infants, 8:45-9:15
