Sunday’s Well Parish Fair

Well done to all the brass banders who played in the garden of Sunday’s Well Church last Sunday, 23rd May, for the parish fair. The boys played for the opening of the fair and again during the fair. They were so good that they each got a free game of crazy golf!

You can see our new banner in the background, this was our first time displaying it.

OPEN DAY—FOR NEW PUPILS:

Today we had an open day for all new pupils. The boys put on a great display for the various
activities held in school. Thank you to teachers who put in such hard work.

SCHOOL TOUR – 3RD/4TH/5TH/6TH:
LIST OF WHAT THE BOYS ARE TO BRING ON SCHOOL TOUR:
2 Towels, Old tracksuit and old runners, Swimming gear, change of underwear, packed lunch, sun spray if sunny, plastic bag for dirty clothes.
(Going at 9:00a.m. and back at 5:00p.m.)
Hope you all have lots of fun on school tour!

HOLY COMMUNION:

The Holy Communion is on Saturday week , 29th May in St. Vincents Church, Sundays Well @ 10:00a.m.

MUSIC – BRASS BAND:

Our 5th class brass band have been invited to perform on the grounds of St. Vincents Church this Sunday @ 3p.m. Sundays Well are hosting a Summer Fair and all
friends and family are welcome to attend.

MUSIC – DOOMSDAY – ROCK THE NEW INFANTS:
Well done to all the boys in Doomsday, the school’s rock band. They played a fantastic gig today to welcome next year’s Junior Infants to the school. The band opened the set with two songs ‘Rock It’ and ‘Wake Up’ written by themselves. They also played ‘Use Somebody’ by the Kings of Leon and finished the show with Rock ‘n’ Roll by Led Zepplin. Doomsday are: Gavin Bracken, Liam Hayes, David Deane, Malkeet Singh Kang, Aidan Coveney, Darren O’ Leary and
Colm Coughlan.

UCC SHOWCASE :

We are pleased to announce that 2nd class choir are asked to perform in a musical showcase in the North Monastery Primary Hall tomorrow. Well done boys and enjoy the gig.

SCHOOL TOUR – 1ST & 2ND:

The school tour this year is on Friday 4th June in the Mardyke arena. The total cost is €18. Please bring in money, if you have not paid already.

ACCESS TO THE SCHOOL:

Please note that all pupils should access the school through the gate in the lower yard. In the
interest of pupil safety, parents are not allowed to drive into school grounds.

MATHS FOR FUN:
Thanks to the Junior Infants parents for attending Maths for fun as it is now finished.
and Senior Infant continues on

WOW! 3 GREEN FLAGS:
We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a 3rd Green Flag. These are awards for excellence in the care of the environment. Well done to all the boys for their help! A special thanks to Noreen Guiney for co-ordinating the programme.                                                                                                                               
OPEN DAY—FOR NEW PUPILS:
On 18th May we will hold an open day for all new pupils. We are now enrolling for all ages, however, we have only limited places in certain classes.  If you know someone who is considering sending their child to our school please ring Sandra @ 4397000 as soon as possible.

HOLYCOMMUNION:                                                                      There is a final blazer fitting being held this Thursday at 1:45.
Parents are asked to attend.
                                                                                                                               
SCHOOL TOUR -3rd/4th/5th/6th:
The school tour date is Wednesday May 19th. Total cost is €40 and balance is paid by the school.

IT – NEW CAMERAS!
As you know we are committed to giving our pupils the opportunity to use the latest technology. We have purchased new cameras for our school.  Now every class will have access to a camera for project work! SPORT -HURLING:
The school hurling team have two matches this week,
they play Gael Scoil Mahon today in Blackrock @ 12:45 and
Morning Star this Thursday in Ballyphehane @ 12:45. Best of luck boys!               
SPORT – 4TH CLASS HURLERS! The following named boys in 4th class played a blitz in Waterford with St. Vincents hurling team, at the weekend. They won 2 and drew 1. Well done boys we are very proud! Jack, Corey, Darragh, Patrick & Mark.                                  
MATHS FOR FUN:
Maths for fun continues for Junior and Senior Infant classrooms.
Tuesday mornings – Junior Infants, 8:45-9:15 and
Wednesday mornings – Senior Infants, 8:49:15.                                                                
NO PUPIL SHOULD BE IN THE SCHOOL YARD BEFORE 8:30.
THE SCHOOL PROVIDES BEFORE SCHOOL SUPERVISION FROM 8:30-8:40:
