BLARNEY STREET BEO

FIRST CITY SCHOOL TO BE AWARDED 3RD GREEN FLAG
HOLY COMMUNION:
Congratulations to all of the 2nd class boys who received First Communion, and to their teachers
Mr Casey & Ms O Sullivan for all of the preparation and hard work. It was a beautiful ceremony, added to by the musicians; Ms Leahy, Mr. Burke, Ms O Sullivan and Caroline O Sullivan. The
parents association put on their usual fantastic spread afterwards at the Communion Breakfast in
St. Vincent’s hall. A huge thank you to Linda, Maria & Catherine and all of the other parents and teachers who gave of their time.
Sunglasses Found: A pair of sunglasses was left in St. Vincent’s church after Saturday’s
Communion , if anyone attending the service left them behind, they are in the school office.
ANNUAL CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION:
On Sunday, 6th June is the Corpus Christi Procession, departing from the Cathedral at 3p.m. If you would like your child to walk and strew petals in the procession, there will be a short practice on Saturday, 5th June at 11a.m. in the Cathedral grounds.

BIRTHDAY INVITATIONS:
We would like to remind parents that it is school policy that children do not exchange Invitations in the class or school grounds. This is to make sure that all children are included and no-one is left out.

SCHOOL TOUR – RANGANNA 1 & 2:
The boys in Mr. Casey’s, Ms. O’Sullivans and Mr Burke’s classes will go to the Mardyke Arena this Friday, 4th June. They should wear their school tracksuit. The boys should be sure to be on time as we will be leaving before 9a.m. The boys will go home at the usual time.
As a step towards our fourth Green Flag (for transport), and in light of the good weather, we are hoping to walk to the Mardyke. If this is possible, we will refund the €4 collected towards the cost of the buses next week. The boys should bring whatever healthy food and drink they bring to school on a normal school-day.
