HALF DAY THIS FRIDAY, ALL CLASSES FINISH AT 12:00. SCHOOL IS CLOSED FOR TWO WEEKS. SCHOOL RE-OPENS ON MONDAY 16TH APRIL. ENJOY YOUR EASTER BREAK!

M U S I C – COR FHÉILE:
Well done to 3rd and 4th class who attended the Cor Fhéile last Thursday, they were fantastic! The Rock Band are also playing tomorrow, Wednesday, best of luck boys!

Wednesday 28th March – Choir & Rock Band performing in Blackpool Library at 10:30a.m, all welcome.

Yo ho, me hearties!! Third and fourth class boys are taking part in the Cór Fhéile this Thursday, 22nd in City Hall at 7:00p.m. We know they’ll be the most convincing pirates there!. The rock band will be in the Cór Fhéile next Wednesday, 28th March.
S P O R T – H U R L I N G :
Hurling blitz tomorrow Wednesday, in St. Vincents H&F Pitch.
10:00 to 11:30 – Senior Infants
12:00 to 1:30 – 1st Class
2:00 to 3:30 – 2nd Class

L I F E L O N G L E A R N I N G F E S T I V A L :
2012 Lifelong Learning Festival runs from March 26th to April 1st. There are free events and classes in everything from salsa dancing to computer skills to bat watching! Check out www.corkcity.ie/learningfestival or pick up a brochure in your local library!

As a part of the Lifelong Learning Festival we will be displaying the work of the children in our school based on their books about Titanic. Artwork will be on display in Blackpool Library
for all of this week. There will be a concert in Blackpool Library on this Wednesday from 10:30 – 1pm, including the school choir and rock band (see above).
Well done to the boys in 4th class who took part in a Titanic table quiz in North Monastery Primary school today – they did us proud!
Quiz Night: An enormous thank-you to our amazing Parents’ Association, for organising and running the table quiz on Friday evening. A huge amount of time and effort went into the evening and it was a great success. Lisa, Linda, Joy, Lorraine, Doreen, Susan, and Sinéad. Thanks to the people who supported the night, all the money raised goes towards the Holy Communion Breakfast and Confirmation Graduation.
SCHOOL TOUR – 3RD/4TH/5TH/6TH CLASS BOYS:
Boys are going to the Glen Resource for their school tour on Wednesday 13th June, leaving school at 9:30 and returning at 4:30. The total cost for each boy for the school tour is €24 please bring in €5 deposit.

W.O.W – WALK ON WEDNESDAY :
Remember to put on your walking shoes tomorrow and walk or ’park and stride’ to school if you can.

FAI 5-a-side Soccer

Well done to the boys from 6th class who took part in the FAI 5-a-side soccer tournament in Midelton last Wednesday. The boys did the school proud!

QUIZ NIGHT THIS FRIDAY FROM 8:00P.M. AT ANGLERS BAR. SPOT PRIZES GALORE ON THE NIGHT. ALSO A RAFFLE FOR V.I.P. PARTY PRIZE (FOOD/MUSIC & €200 FOR ANGLERS AND MO CHUISLE). IF YOU CAN’T MAKE QUIZ, RAFFLE TICKETS CAN BE BOUGHT IN OFFICE FOR €2. QUIZ NIGHT IS IN AID OF FIRST HOLY COMMUNION BREAKFAST MORNING AND 6TH CLASS GRADUATION.

O N E B O O K O N E C O M M U N I T Y :
Author Vincent McDonnell will visit the school to talk to 4th, 5th and 6th class boys about his book Titanic at 12:30 on Wednesday in the hall. If any parents would like to come along, you are very welcome!

6th class boys are taking part in the F.A.I. 5-a-side soccer competition in Midleton this Wednesday. Good luck boys!
