In a nail biting tournament out in Bishopstown, Blarneystreet Boys qualified for the regional finals!

In game one Colin Hannigan organised his team well as captain as Alex Mc Keever was great at catching and setting. Tadgh did some wonderful blocking at the net. Sean Burns Desmond’s serving was excellent and Marc Barry got up to the net for some impressive smashes! Ciaran seemed to be everywhere, helping his team-mates as much as he could. This team made it to the knock-outs where they played the top team of the other group. In an amazing comeback, the game was a tie! They narrowly lost out by one point in what was an exhilarating game.

Team two were equally impressive. There were some amazing smashes and blocks by both Mark Watkins and Liam ‘The Wall’ Facer. Mark’s smashes were almost stoppable and Liam rescued his team with brave dives on several occasions. Jerome’s setting made it easy for Emmet to get in some powerful smashes too. Dylan was a super sub when he came on and played his heart out. Evan tricked his opponents with some sneaky shots at the net into space, a clever strategy.

This team made it to the final too. Cheered on by team 1 they played in another very close game, just beating their opponents in the dying moments of the game. Good luck in the Munsters in Killarney guys!
